The Senior Mechanical Engineer provides daily support of products, processes, materials, and equipment. Design and develop product changes and enhancements which are consistent with a zero-defect level as well as low product cost.
The engineer develops and improves manufacturing processes, original design work, provides sustaining engineering, and works to implement changes. The engineer also works cross-functionally to transfer new products into manufacturing.
With minimal supervisory assistance, procure and oversee outside suppliers and consultants as required. Possesses or quickly acquires deep understanding of construction of therapeutic ends, catheter shafts, attachments and handle bodies; ability to integrate all aspects of catheters to make full devices.
A B.S. in Mechanical Engineering is required.
More than 3 years of experience in medical device industry (i.e., catheter) preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of CAD and drafting tools.
Must have excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to diagnose issues, in-addition to finding and testing solutions.
